ABOUT

Didi is shaped by a dual perspective. Drawing from both Indian and Western influences, Didi explores how these worlds are intuitively connected. Balancing familiarity and discovery, each piece exists in the in-between.

At its core, Didi is about allowing different influences to coexist, creating space for something new to take shape.

THE NAME

Didi exists in both English and Hindi, which is exactly why we chose it.

In English, Didi (pronounced
DEE-dee) is used as a feminine given name or nickname. In Hindi, दीदी  (pronounced with a softer, dental d sound) means “older sister” and can also be used as a respectful way to address an older female.

We love that the name is familiar in both languages and cultures. That duality feels especially fitting for us, as Didi is rooted in the idea that Indian and Western influences can coexist naturally, without one having to become the other.

We welcome both pronunciations. Say Didi in whichever way feels most natural to you. To us, that’s part of what makes the name special. It can feel familiar in different ways, just like the brand itself.
